aarrgghhhhh!

finally found a copy of the the's "soul mining" on cd yesterday and bought it
then tried to open it so i could play it.
it had three (count them) THREE layers of plastic around the jewl case and a piece of cellotape keeping it closed. several minutes of knife work later, i was able to break into it

then i needed some panadol so i tried to open a new packet
the milk has a new sealed lid under the old type
so does coffee (given that i can only drink one, small cup per day, i look forward to it)

why do we need to take locksmiths course to live in the 21st century?

ps soul mining-still a good album. sample track on blip fm

  1. Soul Mining? CD mining, more like.

Oh yeah, Uncertain Emotion. Reminds me of the Fourth Form.

  2. Ooops, realised the title was Uncertain Smile - it was 20 years ago.

  3. it was too (sigh)

i saw them live in 1990 when johnny marr was in the band about the time when matt johson was turning from a singer into an evangelist for the apocolypse. good gig, though
i was with the drummer of the band i was in at the time and he was really impressed with david palmer (ex-ABC) who was drumming and while Matt was scowling and frowing, Johnny Marr was smiling and waving at the crowd.
